BLURB:

BA sexy and spicy sequel to our sizzling saga of Noah and Ethan’s story.
Someone has been suspiciously sinful, but who can blame him? Our lusty lads, Noah and Ethan, are led into licentiousness, by a libertine of a spooky spirit.
Driven by Noah’s desire to protect his partner, Ethan, from this depraved demon, Noah enlists the talents of a Paranormal professional to solve his elemental problems and we meet the mysterious Marvel but is he a Master or Masquerade? Friend or Foe? Specialist or Spurious?
As they deal with despondency and despair, testosterone and tears, in determining their destinies to be loyally loving and tenderly together. Resentment runs rampant and as the intensity increases, it adds fuel to the fire. Will the deceit be discovered before it destroys? Will they be rewarded with retribution or repercussions? Will the truth be triumphant and the visitor vanquished?

This is the second book of the series, and I do recommend you read the first book to get the basis for this book. This author has a way of pulling you into the paranormal world in such an erotic way. He had me thinking that a ghost might be fun, but then I kept reading.

So, Noah and Ethan are lovers and live together. They are very happy with each other and can’t seem to get enough of each other’s bodies. They have great chemistry as we learned in the last book. But, Ian the ghost, loves messing with them. He gets to Noah in a sexual manner and gets to Ethan on an emotional level. It’s all fun and games for Noah until he realizes that Ian is making Ethan question their relationship and he becomes fearful of losing his true love.

This is where Dan, Noah’s work buddy comes in, and he learns all this crazy paranormal stuff from Noah. Low and behold, Dan knows Uncle Marvel, a man that communicates with the paranormal. I absolutely love this character. Marvel is a different character because he can follow these spirits with his mind and be where they are and see what’s going on. He’s good looking and charismatic, and Dan is head over heels for him.

My heart goes out the Ethan because Ian has him believing that Noah is being unfaithful. But, how Ethan deals with all this is soooooo hot and sexy. Eventually, Noah figures it out and asks Marvel and Dan for help. This is where more spirits come after him, and these are not friendly at all.

This book really encompasses the characters in this second part of the series. It left me with a bit of a cliffhanger, so I wait for part three. Good job Pierce and could you hurry up with that please? LOL. A good read.

***I would like to thank the author for the privilege and opportunity of reading this ARC. My review is an honest opinion of the book***

BLURB:

When it rains, it pours. Not only has Larry Walls been evicted from his apartment, but his hours have also been cut at the department store where he works, leaving him facing homelessness.
Meanwhile, Bo Lansing, a total stranger to Larry, toils at a dead-end job as a fry cook while attending night classes to become a certified chef. When the school closes its doors without warning, leaving Bo in the lurch for thousands of dollars in tuition, his dream of becoming a chef is shattered and his financial troubles spiral.
Desperate for a new beginning, each man answers an ad for live-in help posted by a wealthy recluse, and wonder of wonders, they are both hired! Just as their lives begin to improve, a young Kumeyaay Indian named Jimmy Blackstone joins the workforce at the Stanhope mansion.
When Mr. Stanhope’s true reason for hiring the young men is discovered by one of the three, a fourth entity makes its presence known.
Greed.
With all these players vying for position in a game of intrigue orchestrated by one lonely old man and a mischievous ghost, can a simple thing like love ever hope to survive the fray?

This book simply blew me away. The writing and storytelling were outstanding, and I couldn’t take my eyes off it once I started. Don’t get me wrong, it did take me quite a few minutes to get everything straight in my head because there was a lot going on right at the start and when the characters were introduced. But as soon as I got it all sorted out, I was taken on an adventure that was beyond what I would have ever imagined from reading the blurb.

Roger David Stanhope is 93, he lived with Jeremy, his partner of over seventy years, in their mansion on a mountain, but two years ago Jeremy died after a long battle with cancer. Roger knows that he also doesn’t have much time left, but with the help of his live-in housekeeper, Mrs Price, who’s close to her own retirement, he begins his plan to bring two younger men to the estate to work as cook and housekeeper. The only stipulation is that they must be single, gay and looking for a new beginning. Roger has hidden security cameras set up all over the house and estate because his plan is to put the two men together to see if they can be almost manipulated into falling in love with each other, with Roger watching it all unfold. Except Roger isn’t watching alone because when Jeremy died, he didn’t really leave Roger. His spirit is still in the house, and every now and again makes his presence known, sometimes by being a little mischievous, but mostly by giving Roger the love and support that he misses.

Larry Walls is 23-years-old, he’s not having an easy time of it lately. He’s very short on money, his hours at work have been cut, and he’s returned home to an eviction notice on his door because he’s late with his rent yet again. When Larry sees the help wanted ad in the newspaper, he knows it would be the answer to all his problems, so decides to take the chance and go for the interview.

Robert ‘Bo’ Lansing works as a short order cook at a Naval Station. He was also a part-time student at a culinary school, but that has just closed down suddenly, and the owner has taken all of the money. With no chance of completing his chef course, no money and no future as a short order cook, he’s told about the help wanted ad by a friend. Bo decides this fresh start might just be what he needs.

When Larry and Bo arrive at the mansion on interview day, there are more applicants than they thought there would be. But when the two men meet and start talking to each other they hit it off straight away, they both agree that working together would be perfect as they’re already getting along, but neither believe that they’ll both have the luck and get hired by Mr Stanhope. Little do they know that Roger had been watching them since they arrived, and he’s already decided that they would be perfect for his plan/experiment.

Larry and Bo have a great time working together and also form quite a close friendship. Bo is actually very attracted to Larry, and Larry to Bo. When they finally give in to the attraction, Bo believes it will be the start of a serious relationship between them, but Larry isn’t as keen and tries to distance himself from Bo a little, which causes some problems and friction in the house. When the new and extremely handsome estate gardener, Jimmy Blackstone, arrives at the house, a spanner is thrown in the works, and all of Roger’s best-laid plans are ruined.

I loved absolutely everything about this book and story. It totally surprised me, there was an unexpected twist. I laughed on more than one occasion, but I was also filled with joy and happiness seeing love expressed in the words I was reading. It was the perfect story.

Review: “Geoffrey” by Catherine Lievens

BLURB:

Sometimes you have to accept what life gives you without questions.

Geoffrey’s life is normal—or it would be, if most of his friends weren’t members of the Gillham pack. He loves the pack, though, and when he finds an injured woman and three babies, he agrees right away to take care of the oldest one, Mingan. It’s the least he can do, and maybe it’ll help him get closer to William, his mate.

William thought he’d never trust another man, not after what his best friend and lover did to him seven years before. He tries to resist the bond that pulls him close to Geoffrey, but Geoffrey is stubborn, and he doesn’t take no for an answer.

William has no doubt Geoffrey will eventually wriggle his way into his life, but will he be able to get past the wall William built between himself and the rest of the world? What will Mingan’s presence mean for them and for their future? And what will happen when Mingan’s father tries to get him back?

I had the pleasure of reading Geoffrey by Catherine Lievens. It’s the first book that I have read of the Gillham Pack series, so I decided to start with the 21st book in the series, cause why not?

It had a beautiful cover and an intriguing blurb, and I’m glad that I gave it a chance. The authors writing style is easy to read, and she did a great job of explaining who everybody is without having to read all of the other books in the series first. I also love that the main character’s name is the title of the book so that I can easily go back and read about the other characters that intrigued me. The book was also nicely edited which always makes me happy.

Geoffrey was a loveable character. He’s human, but he has a lot of friends in the Gillham pack and works in town at a flower shop with his friend Ethan from the Gillham pack. He has recently learned that he’s also the mate of William and will now become part of the pack himself.

William has a lot of issues that he hasn’t dealt with. He was betrayed by his best friend and lover seven years ago, and it’s left him with major trust issues. This has led him to be withdrawn from the pack and stay in his room playing video games and doing his job. He runs the phone hotline that shifter kids can call if they are in danger or being abused. He then sends out the needed resources to make sure the kid gets to where they need to be. But he’s very much a loner. He’s also painfully shy and blushes over everything. Which I think is adorable.

I loved that Geoffrey found the woman and the three kids and that they were able to help them and that the oldest child Mingan bonded with Geoffrey and William. I loved how it help bring them together and brought William out of his shell and forced him to interact with his mate. I also loved that Geoffrey never got mad at William or tried to force him to do something that he wasn’t ready for.

I wasn’t 100% sure on the dynamic of the relationship between Geoffrey and William on who’s supposed to be the alpha and who’s the omega. It wasn’t clearly defined. Geoffrey’s smaller than William and likes to bottom so I would assume omega but Geoffrey’s also headstrong and doesn’t let William push him around or lock him out. Which makes me think alpha. And with how shy William is and how inexperienced he is with topping. I would almost say that William is the omega. But like I said it isn’t clearly defined. But either way, I enjoyed both of them and their alpha/omega characteristics. It worked for them and the story.

I absolutely loved the ending and how it gave us a hint of who the next book is going to be about. And I already have it on my TBR to be read. I can’t wait to start reading it.

BLURB:

SSA Rain Christiansen used to be the agency’s golden boy. It just takes one moment of weakness, one slight, tiny, itty-bitty paranormal sighting, and all of a sudden he’s the agency’s embarrassment. His boss gives him one last chance to redeem himself—go down to Brickell Bay, play nice with the local police, and leave the ghost sightings behind. Rain is determined to do exactly that, even if it kills him.

Cold-case detective Daniel McKenna’s latest investigation is going nowhere fast. Five years earlier, high school student Amy Greene went missing after leaving her part-time job and was never seen again. Daniel is glad to finally have the FBI help that his department requested, even if it does come in the form of his ex.

It doesn’t help that Rain is pretty sure he’s falling in love with Danny all over again—if he ever stopped. Add to that the frustration of seeing ghosts at every turn while he works a case that’s stalled in its tracks, and Rain is starting to wonder if second chances and happy endings are just for fairy tales.

Rain is profiler with the FBI. He is also a Medium even if he doesn’t want it. One day, during an investigation of a missing girl, he talks to the victim’s parents, telling them that their daughter was dead and in peace. Of course, the news wasn’t welcomed well, and Rain was suspended.

After a leave of 2 months, Rain can’t reintegrate back into his team. So, he’s sent to Brickell Bay (his hometown) to help the Cold Case unit working on a case of a missing girl with his ex-boyfriend Detective Danny McKenna.

I loved this book, the plot, the writing, the characters, everything was great.

I love Rain, he’s smart, honest, speaks bluntly, full of sass with a great sense of humor. He struggled at first with his ability to speak to the ghosts/spirit. He rejected it, convinced that it wasn’t real. But when he finally understood and accepted it, he didn’t back, he stayed with his head high even when people called him crazy, he stayed proud and refused to hide his ability or himself. I loved this about him.

He’s also completely in love with Danny, even if he knows that it wouldn’t be easy to get back with him, Rain doesn’t give up, and try his best to be back with the man he loves.
Danny is hot (tall, muscles, tattooed and pierced…my type of man), and intense. He’s calm, patient, easy going while Rain is just like a storm, a big storm (His name Rainstorm fits perfectly actually) everywhere he goes. They fit perfectly together, even if Danny is afraid to be back with Rain again, to have his heart broken again, he can’t stay away from him.
The plot was good too, the investigation about a cold case with ghosts to disturb all of this, I liked it a lot.

Oh I hear you, “come on Ivy, nothing original in this” … Yes, maybe, but you know what isn’t original too?? Lasagna. Nothing original with lasagna, but some are bad, other are super good, what makes the difference between two dishes of lasagna? … The cook.
That’s exactly the same thing here, S.E Harmon takes something common in literature and adds just her talent in this. And the result is good. We have a super story with a lot of humor and little winks to our culture (movies, songs…)

It was a mix between Criminal Minds, Cold Case and Ghost Whisperer. Add two hot gay men and steamy hot scene sex between them. Very hot. And you’ve got “P. S I Spook you”
For me, it was a great time, in my sunbathe with a cold drink reading Rain and Danny’s story.

Review: “Sealed with Beauty” by Caitlin Ricci and A.J. Marcus

TITLE: Sealed with Beauty
AUTHOR: Caitlin Ricci and A.J. Marcus
SERIES: Signed, Sealed, Delivered
PUBLISHER: eXtasy Books
COVER ARTIST: Angela Waters
GENRE: Paranormal; Shapeshifter
E-BOOK: Yes
PAPERBACK: No
LENGTH: 44 pages
RELEASE DATE: March 3, 2017
PRICE: $2.99 -e-book

BLURB:

Can beauty tame this wild beast?

To his family, Elan is something precious and beautiful to be secreted away and protected at all costs. He’s never allowed to be alone and his only hope of freedom is when his parents decide to mate him off. He’s felt like a prisoner for years, and he’s sick of it. He’s a hawk, and he just wants to fly away.

Raja was badly burned in a magical fire, and his scars have left him feeling like a monster. He lives a life of isolation, only interrupted by his father’s insistence that he get out and explore the world and stop letting his physical appearance limit him. At his wit’s end, his father decides to mate him to Elan, a man Raja could never hope to attract the attention of on his own.

Elan wants his freedom, and Raja only wants to be left alone. It should be a simple arrangement where they both get exactly what they want, only falling in love is never so easy, especially when it comes to a beauty and a beast.

Sealed with Beauty’s a cute Beauty and the Beast adaptation. There’s just something special about reading a book where a character with a heart of gold ends up helping a tormented and troubled soul find his way back to the light and happiness that just gives me warm and fuzzy feelings and this book gave me those feelings. My only complaint was that I didn’t want it to end. It’s unfortunately only a short story.

Raja, a bear shifter, has become reclusive after being burned by magic fire and sustaining scars over a lot of his body. He can’t stand for anybody to see how monstrous he’s become and so he covers as much of his body as he can if he’s going to be around anybody including his family.

Elan, a hawk shifter, has a huge overly protective family that will do anything to keep his purity intact before he is mated. Elan’s tired of constantly being watched and told what he can and can’t do. Elan’s tired of being stifled and can’t wait to be mated so he can have some freedom.

Not wanting his son to be lonely anymore, Raja’s father arranges a mating for him so that when he dies his son will have somebody to share his life with. However, Raja has other ideas for after he’s married and has no intentions of interacting with his new mate and wants a marriage in name only after the marriage is consummated. Elan has just as many ideas for his new mated life, and it includes having a partner, lover and best friend.
I loved the interactions between Raja and Elan when they first meet and after they are mated. I loved when Elan nicknamed Raja “Grumpy butt” and how he stood up for himself and refused to be bullied and refused to have a mate that wouldn’t interact and do things with him.

The storyline and plot were great, and so was the editing, but I would have liked the story to be longer. I wanted to read more about Raja and Elan after they were mated, like when they went out for the first time as a couple without Raja being completely covered up and stuff like that. I wanted to see how they developed as a couple and see how Raja blossomed into a confident guy again with Elan’s help.

Review: “Come and Get Me” by Nicholas Bella

TITLE: Come and Get Me

PAPERBACK: Yes
LENGTH: 151 pages
RELEASE DATE: February 24, 2017

BLURB:

Noel: I’m finally free and able to patrol my own territory without Marco being by my side. I really appreciated everything he’s taught me, what can I say… that big, brutal bastard grew on me. However, before I can embark on my new life as a General, I have to fulfill a debt my Father owes to the dragon king, Evander. This should be interesting. At least I’m not going alone. Dante, newly-mated to Josef, will be going with me.

Elijah: Today is the day our plan finally comes to fruition. I’m praying that everything falls into place just as we have designed it to. But you never know with these sort of operations. Humans can be as unpredictable as supes. I do know one thing, Deacon better come and get me.

Vex: As a reward for my loyalty and service, my King has given me permission to pick the human I want to have turned into a werewolf. I’ve had my eye on the perfect guy, too. Whether he wants to be a wolf or not doesn’t matter to me. Once it’s done and he’s mine, he’ll learn to heel and obey.

Kendrick: It’s been a long time coming with years of strategic planning, from the night I killed my Alpha to the day I killed the dragon king, making me a ruler in my own league. I’ve had my eye on the Odin Colony for over a decade, but I knew I needed to wait until the right moment came to strike. They should fear me, because when the dust settles and the streets are flowing with blood, I will be standing victorious.

Warning: This series is highly addictive, and fans have complained that it’s all they can think about, oftentimes re-reading each book until their next fix. Be further warned: This serial contains strong adult content not meant for sensitive eyes as each episode will be filled with dark, twisted, raunchy and steamy scenes between powerful, sexy men that will either offend you or get ya revved up. This series will not be pulling any punches, and it won’t apologize for hurting your feelings, either. You’ll find no fluff and ruffles here. The vampires are not misunderstood, hopeless romantics looking for love. The werewolves are not cute and cuddly and the dragons aren’t the ones from your childhood. This is NOT a romance

As usual, this author has sucked me into his dark, erotic and unapologetic paranormal world. If you have not read Nicholas before, I strongly suggest you start with The New Haven Series. This is where it all began. This is a new season of the series, and you will want to understand everything up until now. This author has created a world of vampires, werewolves and dragons and it’s not a world for the weak. There’s a no holds barred with this author and if you’re offended easily, by all means, look elsewhere. But, if you like dark, taboo, M/M sexual paranormal and forceful situations, then grab hold of the seat of your pants and enjoy the journey.

Theoden’s boys are taking to their new roles beautifully and are just as sexy as ever. Noel and Dante have a hot date with the Dragon King, Evander, and holy hell. This ménage is super-hot and sexy and had me panting. This happens before the mating of Josef and Dante is to happen. Deacon and Elijah are getting ready for the day they’ve been planning to take over the wolf territories. Elijah is hoping everything goes as planned with Dominic’s human gang and that his mate, Deacon, shows up for him. I really missed all my boys and was happy to get caught up with them. But, there are new and exciting new characters to meet.

Meet Vex, a dragon, which is one of King Evander’s right-hand men. He has been a very loyal dragon and has been given the gift of a human. He has his choice of any human to turn into a werewolf and to be his little puppy. Vex has the perfect man, Isaiah, and brings him home to begin the change. You see, dragon venom will kill a human but not a werewolf, so Vex will have his way with his new pet and will enjoy every last minute of it. He will train him to please Vex whether he wants to or not.

Then there’s Kendrick who has already killed his alpha. Now, he’s waiting for the perfect moment to kill King Evander. Once he does this, he believes he will rule all the worlds of the paranormal. Kendrick can cause some real problems, BUT I do not believe he’s as prepared as he thinks. He has no clue to the strength of Theoden’s boys or the rest of the pack’s alphas. He also has his right-hand man, Monroe. I love Monroe, and I hope he you do too. He’s flamboyant and adorable.

Of course, Nicholas has left me wanting the next episode, and like a good little reader, I will wait as patiently as I can. He loves to make us readers suffer just like his characters. I warn you now, you may want to alone with yourself to read this book. ENJOY

Banan was interested in Owen the moment Puck let him into the pack, but Banan is shy and Owen is anything but. Adding in that Banan is ten years older than him, and he’s sure he never had a chance to begin with. But his New Year’s Resolution is to be more outgoing and to connect with people. He’s been procrastinating until St. Patrick’s Day. Now, with a couple of beers in him, this werewolf is ready to make his move.

This was a fun, quick read where the author has brought us into a world of vampires and werewolves. Now, you’re saying this is nothing new, but it is. This author has introduced us to Pucks Pack. This pack has accepted the outcasts of these two worlds and has created a world for these two to love each other as is.

Banan is a very shy werewolf that gets tongue-tied every time he tries talking to a hot guy. I found Banan a very endearing character. I’ve never found such a hot strapping werewolf shy before. He has his sights on this hot little vampire but has never held a conversation with him. Oh, he wants to, and he imagines talking with him, but he just can’t find the words. So, he just sits and watches him dance and dreams of being with him.

Owen is this hot little vampire and also has a thing for Banan. He’s watched Banan just watch him and has waited for him to approach him, but nothing. Maybe a hello here and there but nothing more. So, Owen makes the first attempt to start a conversation. What he finds is adoring how Banan gets so tongue tied and can’t seem to speak.

I love how the author has paired these two in this safe pack. This was such a fun read even being a short read. I felt like the characters fit well together. I felt their struggle trying to get to know each other. And I loved how this pack has created a safe haven for the ones others think as outcasts.

BLURB:

A shifter altered into a beast, transformed into a weapon…

Subject Z-701 has few memories. Kept in a drug-induced haze and controlled through neural transmitters, he’s let out of his cage when death and destruction is what’s desired.

Until an accident changes his fate.

Freedom beckons, but he finds himself in yet another cage. Without the drugs, the voices get louder, pushing him to the edge of his already precarious sanity.

If it wasn’t for him, the one person able to calm the voices and keep him from teetering into the abyss.

Samuel…

Tossed between heaven and hell, he must forge a path toward Samuel or be lost forevermore.

Project Zed is a spin-off series from the Bear Mountain series. Readers do not need to have red Bear Mountain prior to reading this book, but it is highly recommended.

This book is intended for a mature audience.

Beast is the first book in the Project Zed series by Kelex. It’s well written and nicely edited. The

Project Zed series is a branching off of the Bear Mountain series, and so if you have read the Bear Mountain series, then you know the background of most of the characters in the book. However, if you haven’t read the Bear Mountain series as I haven’t, the author does a great job of explaining all of the important people and who they are mated to under the author notes at the front of the book. I found this to be tremendously helpful, and I had no problem reading the book.
Project Zeb’s a top secret government project where shifters, were and full, are hunted and executed without the knowledge of the military/government as a whole. Covertly, some creatures have been captured and experimented on, with the desire to breed a super army. While it pulls from the U.S. military for operations, there’s a rumor it’s not run by the government at all.

Cal Miller or Subject Z-701 was kidnapped and experimented on. After splicing different DNA onto his bear shifter DNA and putting in a neurological device to be able to control him, he was made into the perfect soldier. Cal was kept in a cage for 40 years and only allowed out when death and destruction are what’s desired. All he could focus on is the revenge for the ones that have done this to him and the numerous voices in his head that are driving him insane.

Samuel’s a shaman for the reservation that’s north of Bear Mountain. He helps with enchanting the cage so that it can stand up to the monstrous beasts that they rescue. He also has an agreement to house the beast as they are rehabilitated, if they can be rehabilitated. Samuel’s drawn to Cal and wants to help him. And with the help of Bull, Killian, and Finn, they are able to calm the voices in his head and help him. But Colonel James Lore, who’s the head of Project Zed, wants Cal back.

I loved the chemistry between Cal and Sam, and I can’t wait to see who their third mate’s going to be. I do love that it looks like most mates are triad relationships between two shifters and a human. And I need to see what happens with the next beast to be rehabilitated. And what happens with Colonel Lore. I can’t wait to read the next book when it comes out to find out what happens next.

BLURB:

The world has died in 2025. The armies of zombies are tracing streets in the urge to satisfy the blood thirst. The probably last survivor in the whole world enters the abandoned house where finds the diary. The diary that reveals the horrible story of love and death, the last kindness in the world.

This story may contain content that is disagreeable or distressing to some readers.

I had a really hard time writing this review, and I had an even harder time after reading the other reviews that are about it. So, I will try to articulate what I did and didn’t like about And After Death.

The book was beautifully written and edited and even though it’s only 42 pages, the author has a way of drawing you in and making you feel like you are there experiencing what’s happening with the characters. The beginning of the story has our main character (sorry, I don’t know his name, and I guess, it really doesn’t matter, since this book is told in first person point of view) the last remaining survivor of the zombie apocalypse, trying to find food, water, and shelter for the night. He finds an abandoned house that has potential and checks it for zombies. The house seems to be empty, and although it has some food, it doesn’t have any running water. He does see a well out in the middle of the backyard and braves it to get some water. While checking out the house, he finds a diary and decides to pass the time by reading it.

I absolutely loved the diary entries, and they were told in a way that you couldn’t identify whether the person writing the diary was a male or a female. And I have to admit that I thought the writer was female which I had no problem with because the love that you could feel between the two people in the diary is what everybody is looking for. They were soul mates, and I loved it. I felt their love, and their heartache and I cried at least three times reading it. I loved the writer’s last request to put their loved one out of his misery because the writer wasn’t able to kill his zombie husband.

I even liked the main character up until this part. But when he went to fulfill the last request because he was moved by the story also, I just couldn’t handle the way that he reacted. I am sorry but his reaction to finding out that the couple was gay ruined the book for me. It made me feel like the love that the two people had for each other was invalidated because they were gay. Because you know that if the couple had been straight, he would have honored the last request. If it had been a paperback, I would have torn out the pages and rewritten the book in my mind. The book could have had a beautiful ending to the story, and so I can’t figure out why the author went the route that he did unless he was just going for a shocked reaction. Well, he got it. But now I am not sure if I am even willing to try and read any more of his work for fear that they will affect me as strongly.

Like I said I loved the book up until the last 10%, but that last bit just killed me. I sincerely hope that the main character ends up getting eaten by a zombie gay pride parade. That would be a fitting end for such a bigoted man.

***I would like to thank the author for the privilege and opportunity of reading this ARC. My review is an honest opinion of the book***

levilogooptimummBest series ever!!!

I’m so in love with this series. I have now words for what Meraki is doing with this series…

For all those who haven’t read the previous ones, you are missing out big time.

The series is not a typical romantic series, there is romance mind you, and hot gay sex too, but the main thing, or maybe it’s just for me, is the occult world.

I know that Meraki has invested 8 years of research into this series, but how much is fiction and how much are facts…well, I think Meraki’s keeping us guessing.

During this series, we meet a lot of paranormal beings. The main entities, as we can learn from series title, are Earned. An Earned is a demigod who was created to serve mankind. Although in this book they are not so much involved.

In “Gargoyle Rising”, we will meet Nathan and his shadow Lucien again. We will find out that Nathan makes progress to find out about the curse that bounds Lucien into the shadow. The book happens in parallel with the previous books of the series. It was nice experiencing it again.

In the previous books, we’ve met Rebecca a girl who was hitting on Alex, we knew almost nothing about her, but now…she is working for the New Knight Templars. Man, the brainwashing! Meraki did an extremely nice job describing how the religious fanaticism makes you blind to the reality.

But the book is mostly about Meino. He is an auto mechanic, living in Germany. When he was 11, he lost both his parents, but he can’t forget the gargoyles from a crypt where his father used to bring him to play. After the loss of his father, Meino finds a book and tries to resurrect a gargoyle so he’s not alone anymore. Well, nothing happens. But the gargoyle haunts his dreams, and after 15 years when Meino finds the missing piece of the spell, Buckheart the Gargoyle shows up on his balcony. And then when their story starts…

We will learn more about Templars and hidden societies in Europe. Although the book is a fiction, I got the feeling that Meraki let us in, into knowledge about the occult societies. To believe it or not it’s all up to you …

5 amazing OptimuMM!
